He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul B. Johnson and Anna Lee Johnson (Reel); his wife B. Joyce Held; and his son Tim Johnson. He is survived by: his children, Tara Sue Knapp (Kevin) of Newburgh, IN and Trent Franklin Johnson (Roslyn) of Vincennes; his brother Steve Johnson (Susan) of Danville, IN; and his grandchildren, Alexis Williams (Shawn), Adam Johnson, Eli Johnson, Megan Johnson, Jacob Johnson, Kris Knapp, Dustin Knapp and Hunter Knapp. He is also survived by nine great grandchildren.

The Johnson family has requested memorial contributions be made to Community Church of Vincennes-Mary Marthas.
