He was predeceased by: his parents, Norma Lee Leap (Spencer) and Leon Thomas "Jimmy" Leap; his grandparents, Ulysses Simpson Spencer, Bessie B. Spencer (McFarland), Casper A. Leap and Della Mae Leap (Thomas); his niece Galena Lynn Rayls; and his mother-in-law Lucille Carpenter (Centers).
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Ann Carpenter (Carpenter) of Mt. Sterling, IN; his daughters, Stephanie Furnish (Raymond) of Mt. Sterling, IN and Jill Scranton (Darian) of Bennington, IN; his grandchildren, Nathan, Ally Furnish and Isabella Scranton; his siblings, Randy Leap (Lisa) of Vevay, IN, Eric Leap (Aleasa) of Gaston, SC, Gloria Leap of Versailles, IN and Sharon Thomas (Marty) of Choctaw, OK; his aunt Betty Hargrove (Bud) of Vevay, IN; his father-in-law William "Bill" Carpenter of Milan, IN; and his siblings-in-law, Bill, Linda Carpenter of Mt. Sterling, IN, Jeff Carpenter of Vevay, IN, Cynthia, Morris Hysell of Lexington, IN, Debbie, Galen Rayls of Vevay, IN, Sandra and Rick Andrew of Elrod, IN.. He is also survived by his family, his friends.
