He was predeceased by: his parents, Abijah North Gridley and Mary Elizabeth Gridley (Kinnett); his wife Wilma Maxine "Mickey" Gridley (Covington); his brothers, James Abijah Gridley, Robert Shaw Gridley and Gorden LeRoy Gridley; and his grandson-in-law John Knight.
He is survived by: his former wife Nancy Jean Jackson; his children, Diane Karagory (Randy) of Freeport, ME, Cathy McAlister (Lynn) of Patriot, IN, Toni Renee Young (Tim) of Vevay, IN, Bridget Gridley of Vevay, IN, April Gridley of East Enterprise, IN and David Gridley (Amanda) of East Enterprise, IN; his grandchildren, Erin Knight Brochu (Matt), Megan Ganguly (Sonny) of Bethesda, MD, Dan McAlister (Kodi) of Patriot, IN, Chelsea Kirkpatrick (Klint) of Rising Sun, IN, Mattea "Tater" Edwards of East Enterprise, IN, Tristan Benham, Jullian Benham, Kearstan Gridley and Dreylan; his great grandchildren, Lainie McAlister, Landen McAlister, Jackson Knight, Lynleigh, Eloise "Ella" Knight, Savana "Savi" Ganguly and Harison "Hari" Ganguly; and his brother William "Bill" Gridley of Rising Sun, IN. He is also survived by his several nieces and nephews.
Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana Memorial contributions may be made to the John Knight Curiosity Lab c/o Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home.
