She was predeceased by: her husband Richard A. Dawson; her siblings, Ralph, Jack McAllister, Pat Evans (Lloyd) and Nellie Davis (Roy); her nephew Kenneth R. McAllister (Jack); her son-in-law Keith Mikesell (Carol); and her grandsons, Dennis Watkins and Cody Broughton.
She is survived by: her children, Joe, Carol, Barbara (Paul) and Martha (Alvin); and her grandchildren, Lacy (Joe), Jennifer, Matthew, Andrew (Carol), Allison, Blake, Megan (Barbara), Ricky, Danny, Stephanie and Sara (Martha). She is also survived by 24 great-grandchildren.
