He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Julius and Essie Sybil Cleaver (Gilmore); his son Joseph Michael "Joey" Cleaver, Jr.; his granddaughter Laura Lee Alcala; his siblings, Kathleen Haeseley, Louise Cleaver, Jack Cleaver and Owen Lawn; and his son-in-law James Kugelman.
He is survived by: his wife Janet Lee Cleaver (Finkbiner) of Vevay, IN; and his children, Penny Lynne Kugelman of Indianapolis, IN, Patrick C. Cleaver (Doris) of Indianapolis, IN, Matthew C. Cleaver (Bev) of Indianapolis, IN, Cathleen M. "Cady" Brock of Petersburg, IN and Anthony D. "Tony" Cleaver (Tonya) of Mooresville, IN. He is also survived by -grandchildren.
