He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence A. Hargrove and Rose Mae Hargrove (Benifield); his stepmother Anna Hargrove; his siblings, Denzil Hargrove, Richard Hargrove, Evelyn Barber and Alice "Toots" Phares; his brother-in-law Robert "Bob" Phares; his children, Cindy Hamilton and Tom Hargrove; and his grandson John Jewell.
He is survived by: his wife Betty M. Hargrove (Leap) of Vevay, IN; his sons, Ronnie Hargrove of Madison, IN and George Hargrove of Tennessee; and his stepchildren, Linda Jones of Vevay, IN and Jerry Jewell (Robin) of Rising Sun, IN. He is also survived by his several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and his many friends.
