He was predeceased by: his parents, Levi Birky and Emma Birky (Bechler); his wife Marlene K. Nafziger; and his siblings, Lois Kuehl, Jean Troyer, Iris Birky, Eldon, Orville and Willis Birky.

He is survived by: his brother Merlyn Birky (Mary Jo) of Valparaiso. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews & friends.
