He was predeceased by: his parents, Kirby Smith Irvin and Mary Magdalene Irvin (Perryman); his son Kirby Smith Irvin; and his siblings, Donald Irvin, Kenneth "Sam" Irvin, Orville, Janice Kay Irvin, Betty Lou Myers, Brozella Odam, Almeda Tadlock and Ellafair Gunnells.
He is survived by: his daughter Genine "Geni" Aratri (Phillip) of Dyer, Indiana; his granddaughters, Cassie Dziatlik of Key West and Ashlie Hernandez of Portage, Indiana; his great grandchild Lorenzo Gootee; and his brother Teddy R. Irvin (Carolyn) of Benton, Illinois. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
