It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Richard L. Koeppen of Valparaiso, Indiana, who passed away on August 2, 2022, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond A. C. and Gleda Koeppen (Moore); his sister Linda Carol Koeppen; and his former wife Carolyn Jean Vass. He is survived by: his son Christopher E. Koeppen (Teresa); his stepdaughters, Shelley Hickman and Lori Heffner; his grandchildren, Nick, Ben, Ryan, Isaiah Koeppen and Emma Heffner; and his siblings, Sharon Sherman, Janet Roempagel, Chuck Koeppen (Cathie), Donna Smoker and Brad Koeppen (Janet Byrd).

Always keenly aware of his social and civic responsibilities, Rich chose to donate over 14 gallons of blood to the Red Cross and received an Award of Merit from Joy Mfg. in Michigan City for implementing cost savings measures that topped $1 million.
