He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Hackett and Hattie Hackett (Heyer); his granddaughters, Alexis Schroeder and Suzannah Carlin; and his siblings, Ellen Vinson and Jim Hackett.
He is survived by: his spouse Beverly Leathurby; his children, Martin "Marty" Hackett (Pam) of Valparaiso, Antoinette "Toni" Schroeder of Valparaiso and Andrea Byerman (Jeff) of Knox; his grandchildren, Brian Norris, Christian Hackett (Joanna), Kiersten Byerman (Jake), Blake Byerman and Elizabeth Rufo (Bryan); and his great grandchildren, Gianna, Julian, Atticus and Naomi.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Moeller Funeral Home (104 Roosevelt Rd, Valparaiso, IN 46383). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. An entombment was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 at the Graceland Cemetery (1505 Morthland Dr, Valparaiso, IN 46383).
