He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Heimberg and Emily Heimberg (Heuser); his grandson Mikey Tapocsi; and his siblings, Leroy "Roy" Heimberg, Lorena Heuser (Ervin) and Alvada Heimberg.

He is survived by: his wife Nancy J. Reetz; his children, Suzie Tapocsi (James) of Wheeler, Cindy McClanahan (James) of Chesterton and Robert Heimberg (Lynnett) of Kouts; and his brother Wayne Heimberg (Jean).
