He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilhelm (Augusta Maar) and Joe; and his siblings, Elfriede, Elisabeth "Susie", Kaethe, Karl, Heinrich and Dorothea "Tia".
He is survived by: his wife Virginia "Ginny" Gruendel; his children, Monica Ball (Dan) of Kouts, William Maar (Erica) of Valparaiso and David Maar (Monica) of Hebron; his grandchildren, Matthew (Krystan), Rebecca, Tyler (Lauren), Megan (Josh), Andrew (Katie), Annaliese (Jack), Rianna, Lincoln and Brooklyn; and his great grandchildren, Joelle, Raymond, Aleki and Jensen.
