He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesus S. Puente and Olivia Puente of East Chicago; his grandparents, Guadalupe, Socorro Saldaña of East Chicago, Jesus and Juanita Puente of Laredo, Texas; his uncle Raul Saldaña; and his brother-in-law Daniel H. Cortez.
He is survived by: his siblings, Anthony Puente, Michael Puente (Gricela) and Elizabeth Puente-Cortez; his nieces and nephews, Adriana Puente, Marisol McMenamy (Ryan), Anthony Puente II, Martin Puente, Christina Cortez, Stephanie Puente, Matthew Cortez and Jessica Puente; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Antonio Puente, Ethan, Augustus McMenamy, Isabella Puente and Bethany Lozano; his cousins, Lisa Saldaña, Sarah Gaglione and Lorraine Torres of South Florida; and his aunt Marilou Saldaña of South Florida.
