It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Chowning (Valparaiso, Indiana), born in Sullivan, Indiana, who passed away on March 8, 2022, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Ruth Elizabeth Hammel Chowning; his parents, Lewis E. Chowning and Mattie Marie Longbons Chowning; and his siblings, William R. Chowning (Angie), Dolores Alumbaugh (Charlie) and Dedrie Brewer (John).
He is survived by: his grandchildren, James Riley Chowning (Rae), Ben Chowning (Carmen), Katie Zacharias (Matt), Sarah Chowning, Andrew Chowning, Micah Chowning (Shelby), Luke Chowning (Abby) and Joshua Chowning (Rachel); and his great grandchildren, Charlotte, Brennan, Jaxson, Maven, Elizabeth, Breslyn and Nora.
