She was predeceased by: her parents, Ezra Meiss and Anna Meiss (Stieglitz); her husband Alvin Tesmer; and her siblings, LaVerne, Roland, Ralph, Willis Meiss and Vera Berkshire.
She is survived by: her daughters, Nancy McDowell (Charles) of Valparaiso, Kay Hayes (Jack) of Mount Airy, MD and Jane Tesmer of Valparaiso; her grandchildren, Scott McDowell (Liz), Jacquelyn Crook (Rob), Jonathan Hayes (Erica) and Stephanie Hayes; her great grandchildren, Whitney, Haley McDowell, Callie, Abigail Crook, Madeline and Noah Hayes; her sister Wilma Bruder; and her sister-in-law Jean Meiss.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the VNA Hospice of NWI.
