She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl Platts and Mary Platts (Maybaum); her husband Charles E. "Skip" Bird; her siblings, Patricia Belaschky and Henry Platts; and her son-in-law Daniel Matern.
She is survived by: her daughters, Mary Anna Bird Matern of Chesterton and Patricia Elizabeth Bird (Chuck Gessert) of Hawaii; her brother David Platts; and her grandchildren, Sydney Spillers, Logan Spillers and Blake Spillers.
