It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Elaine Washek of Valparaiso, Indiana, born in Erie, Pennsylvania, who passed away on January 19, 2022, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, George Hilbert and Annette Hilbert (Forrester); her husband Conrad James Washek; her granddaughter Jessica Wells; and her brother James Hilbert.

She is survived by: her children, Mary Wells (James), Sandra Washek and James Washek (Gerardo Perez); her grandson James Wells II (Sarah); and her siblings, Thomas Hilbert (Ann), William Hilbert (Jane) and Dorothy Heise (Chuck). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
