He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Wesley and Lillie Mae Covington (Johnson); and his sister Barbara J. Covington. He is survived by: his wife Joy Covington; his children, Kimberley Weideman (Kelly), Donnie W. Covington Jr. (Stefanie Cece), Rebecca Oscar (Carl), William and James D. "Doug" Covington (Mary); his grandchildren, Christopher, Jon, Jerritt, Patrick, Amanda, Olivia, Abigail, Samuel, Bailey, Carl, Jada, Oliver and Leo; and his great grandchild Payton.
