She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter "Jerry" Meadows and Edna Meadows (Spencer); her husband Robert L. Nelson; her son Thomas; and her sister Charlene Asher.
She is survived by: her daughter Janet Sanford (Dave) of Valparaiso; her daughter-in-law Judy Nelson of Valparaiso; her grandsons, Brian and Eric (Nicole); and her great grandchildren, Colton, Marshall, Henry and Elizabeth.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Red Cross in Betty's memory.
