He was predeceased by: his parents, Lavon Joseph "Pat" and Louinda Ellen Heflin (Shultz); and his brother James Heflin. He is survived by: his wife Peggy Joan Heflin of Urbana; his children, Kirk Von Heflin (Carlotta Bach) of Vienna, Austria and Karen Smith (Lee) of Wabash; his grandchildren, Kayla Taylor (Lyman "Len" Smith), Luna Heflin of Vienna and Austria; his great grandchildren, Kyle Lee Smith of Wabash, Casey Lynn Taylor, Jr. of Wabash and Lyman Rhett Smith of Wabash; and his sister Sue Holmes of Urbana.
