He was predeceased by: his father James P. Slater; his uncle Doyle; and his aunt Mary Kibbey. He is survived by: his wife LaRea Slater (Lawvere) of Matthews, IN; his siblings, Sandy Slater Cooper of Castleberry, FL, Linda Slater Zinser of St. Paul, IN and Jack Slater of Winterhaven, FL; his cousins, Becky Swathwood of Matthews, IN, Ruth Botkin (Jim) of Indianapolis, IN and Dick Kibbey (Kay) of Marion, IN; his aunt Kay Carrol Faye of Media, PA; and his nephew Steve Bartels of Eckerty, Indiana. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
