He was predeceased by: his parents, George Koontz and Pearl Koontz (Barnes); his wife Marlene Jean Janisch; his children-in-law, Darlene Koontz and Robert Aubin; and his sisters, May Rhoda and Mary Hill.
He is survived by: his children, Teri Lee Aubin of LaPorte, Jim Koontz of Hanna, Jeff Koontz (Kelly) of Union Mills and Steve Koontz (Maria) of Hanna; his grandchildren, William, Gregory, Craig, Stanley, Matt, Adam, Ryan, Kyle, Alexandria and Nicholas; and his sister Elizabeth Pike. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
