He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald Smiley and Lola Smiley (Castle); his wife Phyllis Smiley (Hindsley); his children, Phillip Smiley and Margaret Brown (Joe); his brothers, Bob Smiley (Jennetta) and David Smiley (Diane); and his brothers-in-law, Danny Green and James Bake.
He is survived by: his daughters, Paulette Hinkle (Jon) of Union City, Melanie Warner (Bruce) of Gloucester and Lori Goubeaux (Scott) of Greenville, Ohio; his grandchildren, Jill Skye (David) of Greenville, Joseph Brown of Brownsburg, Cory Brown of Champaign, Drew Warner of Virginia and Haley Orosco (Ray) of El Paso, Texas; his great grandchildren, Tayler Armstrong (Isaac), Logan Skye, Grace Skye, Raymond Orosco and Skylar Warner; his great great grandchild Ophelia Armstrong; and his siblings, Martha Bake of Lynn, Stan Smiley (Connie) of Saratoga, Indiana and John Smiley (Karen) of Saratoga, Indiana. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
