He was predeceased by: his parents, Sylvester Tomes and Nellie Tomes; and his wife Glendolyn Rhea Tomes (Embry). He is survived by: his children, Carolyn Howard "Grandma Red" (Bob), Steve Tomes, Timmy Tomes, Jimmy Tomes, Stanley Tomes, Pam Leftwitch (Bill) and Kermit Tomes. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
