He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Brewer and Nora Brewer (Tucker); his wife Eula Jean (Colwell); his sons, Gerald Brewer and Terrance Brewer; his siblings, Mabelline Couch, Bonnie Couch, Tresa Hall, Jimmy Brewer and Tommy Brewer; and his granddaughter J. Ashley Smith.

He is survived by: his children, Regina King (Mark), Roger Brewer (Kelley) and Vance Brewer (Charity); and his sisters, Jeanitta Fugate (Brewer) and Deborah Feltner (Brewer). He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
