He was predeceased by: his daughter Amy Sue Minear; his parents, James Allen Minear and Barbara Ann Lawrence (Dale); his brother James Ora Lee Minear; his stepbrother Keith Allen Lawrence; and his father-in-law Everett Newman.
He is survived by: his wife Rhonda Minear; his daughter Jessica Suttles (Jason); his grandchildren, Seth Allen, Serenity (Jake), Danielle (Zach) and Izzy (Nathan); his great grandchild Mylo; his stepsiblings, Kevin Eugene Lawrence (Dyla) and Sheryl Ann Crawford (Gary); and his mother-in-law Donna Newman. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
