He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Englar Owen and Eunice Bernice Whelchel (Moore); his wife Linda Kay Silence; his daughters, Marla Vandevender (David) and Karen Francis (David); his grandchildren, Cody Vandevender and Megan Vandevender; his sister Jean Moon; his sister-in-law Jill Whelchel; his parents-in-law, Leon, Colette Silence, Omi Silence and Diane Silence; and his brothers, Jay and James Whelchel.
