He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Jackie Lee Goodnight and Buina Bell Goodnight (Netherton); his wife Donna Joan Goodnight (Leap); his children, Teresa Strong (Michael) of Moss, TN, Diana Black (Randy) of Jacksonville, AR, Michael Stacy (Inka) of Sheridan, IN, Mary Heffelmire (Ted) of Tipton, IN, Adam Goodnight (Ashley) of Anderson, IN, Billie Jo Goodnight of Anderson, IN, Sheila Langolf of Tipton, IN, Jack Goodnight of Tipton, IN and Jessica Ridenour (Jesse) of Tipton, IN; his grandchildren, Cody, Matthew Stacy, Callie Langley (Blaze), Kyle Heffelmire, Shayla Black, Lyle, Ethan, Cici, Bruce Goodnight, Noah and Jasmine Langolf; his great grandchild Blayson Langley; his siblings, Gary Goodnight (Betty), Ruby Ann Goodnight and Theresa Goodnight; his siblings-in-law, Melinda Goodnight, Peggy Leap and John Knapp (Sharon); and his siblings, Gene Goodnight, Rick Goodnight, Carolyn Goodnight and Martha Goodnight. He was also cherished by many nieces, nephews cousins and amazing friends.

He made many benches through the years and donated those to charities.
