He was predeceased by: his father Sidney Thomas; his sister Louise Beckley (Delmar "Peck" Beckley); and his brother-in-law Carl Bolton. He is survived by: his wife Sherry; his sons, Jon Eric Thomas I (Mary Jane) of Bullhead City and James "Alan" Thomas (Lisa) of Athens, Georgia; his grandchildren, Jon Thomas II, Alex Thomas, Mara Thomas, Izzy and Captain; and his sister Laredda Bolton of Florida.
