He was predeceased by: his parents, William Loyd Shults and Nettie Shults (Phillips); his close friend Nancy Shults; his siblings, Paul Shults (Helen), Bill Shults (Leanna), Lee Shults (Rosella), Betty Nicks, Mildred Kaylor (Bill), Helen and Barbara Shults; his nephew Roger Shults; and his son-in-law Kent Morrison.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Gean Shults (Litton); his children, Sharon Smith (Shorty), Jeff Shults (Linda) and Amy Shults (Rick Hayes); his adoptive daughter Tonia Smith; his grandchildren, Ashly McCracken (Brad), Andrew Smith (Emily), Dalton Shults, Holly Hartman (Brian), Kasey Hayes, Kensey Morrison (Devon Marks) and Sarah Pearcy (Derrick); his great grandchildren, Eli, Silas McCracken, Taylor, Gunner Smith, Makylee, Blake Hartman, Jackson, Lillian Tillery, Haydon and Addilynn Marks; and his nieces and nephews, Jim Kaylor (Patty), Joy Warrick (Mel), Ron Kaylor (Dawn), Helen Mills (Mark) and Jerry Shults.
