He was predeceased by: his parents, Jerry D. DeWitt and Betty DeWitt (Yeary); his brother Brent D. DeWitt; his father-in-law Lloyd G. Hewitt; his nephew Matthew Corlew; his niece Sydney I. Machalinski; and his brother-in-law Greg Corlew.

He is survived by: his wife Dawn R. Hewitt; his son Wesley DeWitt (Tasha); his grandchildren, Mackenzie Rae DeWitt and Greg; his brother Timothy DeWitt (Sandy); his sister-in-law Susan DeWitt; his mother-in-law Agnes Hewitt; his sister-in-law Cherie VanDam (Mike); and his nieces and nephews, Ashley Conrad (Micah), Andrea Sluka (David), Adam DeWitt (Christi), David DeWitt, Brett DeWitt, Timothy Corlew (Kelsey Conner) and Devon Corlew.

Proper wearing of masks or face coverings as well as social distancing will be required at the funeral home.
