He was predeceased by: his parents, John "Jack" Barnes and Fidelis "Day" Barnes. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Pickrell of Hudson, WI; his children, John Barnes (Kelly Thompson) of Los Angeles, CA and Amy Hartnett (Shawn) of Hudson, WI; his granddaughter Elaine Hartnett of Hudson, WI; his children, Claire Barnes of New Haven, CT and Lilly Hartnett (Zach Postler) of Edina, MN; and his siblings, Mike Barnes of Parkville, MD, Dan Barnes (Marty) of Lamy, NM and Marty Driscoll (Dave) of Martinsville, IN..

Visitation was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Young-Nichols Funeral Home (216 W Jefferson St, Tipton, IN 46072). A graveside service was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 3:00 PM at 250 S 1125 W, Kempton, IN 46072.
