He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence "Bud" Ley and Eva Ley (Weeks); the mother of his children Jacquelin Janel Powell (Hutson); his children, Chris Ley, Dale Ley and Sally Vandevender; his siblings, Robert Francis and Shirley Sage (Clarence); and his brothers-in-law, Byrd Gibbons and Larry Retherford.
He is survived by: his children, Teia Ley (Cindy Mills Ley) of Tipton and Chad Ley (Rebecca) of Elwood; his grandchildren, Cheyenna Mills (Drew Randolph), Haydon Ley (Aubrie Irvin) and Kyra Ley; his great grandchild Hudson Eugene Ley; his siblings, Judy Mallott (Rex) of Greentown, Phillip Ley (Janice) of Tipton and Norma Gibbons of Elwood; and his close friend Rex Powell (Nancy) of Tipton.
