He was predeceased by: his parent Vivian V. Smith; his grandparent East; his parent Vivian Thorpe; his stepfather Fred Thorpe; his grandparents, Frank and Julia Ann Smith (Roberta); and his son Donald Lee Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Roberta Zimmerman; his children, Michael Smith (Cathy) and Cheryl Comer (Pat) of Tipton; his sister Barb Fowler (Greg); his grandchildren, Traci Reed (Brian), Nicholas Comer (Wendy), Krista Doss, Chad Comer (Brooke), Eric Smith (Lauren), Kyle Comer (Jessica), Tyler Smith (Tasha), Courtney Watts (Josh) and Corey Smith (Emily); his great grandchildren, Ryan Smith (Katie), Olivia Dinkens, Jacob Dinkens, Zoey Clardy, Brayden Reed, Brooke Reed, Brantley Reed, Bryar Reed, Blaise Doss, Jameson Downam, Makenna Comer, Macie Comer, Marika Herron, Xavier Herron, Eden Comer, Adelyn Comer, Levi Comer, Shaylan Morris, Paisley Comer, Preston Comer, Carter Watts, Emma Watts, Clark Smith, Ryder Rednour, Olivia Smith, Mason Smith and Millie Smith; his great great grandchild Delilah Smith; and also Beckett Smith. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces and cousins.
It was Don's wish that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to the Jefferson Township Alumni, c/o Mark Mason, 101 East Columbia, Attica, Indiana, 47918 to provide scholarships for Tipton High School Seniors who are decedents of Jefferson Township Alumni.
