With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Plen J. Smith II of Terre Haute, Indiana, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his father Plen G. Smith; and his sister Linda Smith Hooper. He is survived by: his mother Freda Cannady Smith of Terre Haute; his sister Patricia Smith; his wife Deborah A. Smith of Terre Haute; his sons, Plen Smith III of Washington, DC and Sylas Smith (Ashley Higham Smith) of Terre Haute; and his grandsons, Mason, Clay and Nolan. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life was held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the Samaritan Affordable Funeral and Cremation Services (2425 Wabash Ave, Terre Haute, IN 47807). A memorial service was held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages a self-cancer screening for those with a family history or risks of cancer, honoring Plen's memory.
