He was predeceased by: his parents, James J. "Jack" Joseph and Anna Wenc Joseph; his wife Donna L. Sparks Joseph; his daughter Diana L. Joseph; and his close friend Suzie Hendrix.
He is survived by: his sons, Gary Joseph (Helen) of Terre Haute and James W. Joseph, Jr. (Sue) of Fort Wayne, IN; his grandchildren, Gary Michael Joseph, Brianna Michelle Pullen (Nathan) and Tracy Kuehnert (Keith); his great grandchildren, Ashley Whitecar (Michael), Morgan Lenwell (Levi), Brooke Lenwell and Jordon Lenwell (Kaitlyn); his great great grandchild Leighton James Whitecar; and his siblings-in-law, Garry Sparks and Glenda Bonte. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
