He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert Nichols and Ruth Adams Nichols; and his siblings-in-law, Nancy Hughes, Cathy Strain, Brenda Peters and Forrest Peters.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy "Dot" R. Strain Nichols; his children, Michelle Engle (Mark) and Rick Nichols (Jerry Case); his granddaughter Ariella Engle; and his siblings-in-law, Carolyn Piety (Barrett), Cindy Peters (Michael) and Robert Hughes. He is also survived by his wife and friends.
