He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Earl and Delorus Faye Hoaks (Sheets); his granddaughters, Charlotte and Carla Hoaks; and his siblings, Boyd Dale Hoaks, Alvin Hoaks, Melvin Ray Hoaks, Hazel Robinson, Doris Jean Hall, Wilma June Holt, Vera Elaine Yenna, Charlotte Hoaks, Elsie Minnick, Earline Hoaks and Zelma Hoaks.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy LaVerne Godby; his children, Charles "Chuck" Hoaks (Dale) of Flaggler Beach, FL, Debbie Worley (Joel) of Bruce, MS and Sandy Martin (Bob) of Manassas, VA; his foster son Mike Godby of White Pine, TN; and his siblings, Lewis Hoaks, Leslie Hoaks (Anna), Glenn Hoaks (Debbie) and Donna Jeffers (Bruce). He is also survived by two grandsons, five granddaughters, 8 great-grandsons and 6 great -granddaughters.
