He was predeceased by: his parents, Arlie O. "Bill" Haffner and Marjorie E. Haffner (Howe); his brother Harold Gene; his brother-in-law Robert Hatheway; and also, Richard and Ruth Stoeckley.
He is survived by: his wife Ann Ruth Stoeckley; his sister Charlotte Hatheway of Tullahoma, TN; his children, John Haffner (Shelley) of Leesburg, IN, Jane White (Arnold) of Toccoa, GA and Mary Stewart (William) of Charlotte, NC; his grandchildren, Rob Tieman (Katie), Ryan Tieman (Amber), Carly Speicher (Adam), Jared Haffner, Jackson, Finn Stewart, Rachel and Anna White; his great grandchildren, Peyton, Jack, Sam Tieman, Kay and Charlie Speicher; and his brother-in-law John Stoeckley (Karen). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
