He was predeceased by: his parents, Oliver Purtee and Betty Purtee (Baxter); and his sister Susan D. Scott. He is survived by: his wife Janet Purtee of Swayzee; his children, Jennifer Smothermon of Fort Wayne, Marc Purtee (Stephanie) of Hobart and Brett Purtee (Jennifer) of Marion; his grandchildren, Tyler Purtee (Meranda), Abigail Purtee (Joshua Espelita) and Zachary Smothermon; his great grandchild Adalyn Espelita; and his sisters, Kathy Purtee (Mick Cox) of Summitville and Debra Fulks. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel (1341 N Baldwin Ave, Marion, IN 46952). A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
