He is survived by: his parents, Millard Carter and Harriett Carter (Sparkman); his children, Zachary Carter of Versailles and Destiny Carter of Holton; his sisters, Kim Joerger (Bob) of Harrison, OH and Deborah Messer of Moores Hill; and his grandson Kenneth Engel.
Memorials may be given in honor of James to the family.
