He was predeceased by: his parents, William Louis and Mabel Smith (Johnston); his wife Patsy L. Smith (Jackson); and his brothers, William L., Clifford M. and James H. Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Clifford D. Smith (Gayle) of Sulphur, Indiana, John E. Smith (Rita) of Sulphur, Indiana and Teresa L. Williams (Gerald David) of Corydon, Indiana; his sister Bonnie J. Allinger of Sulphur, Indiana; his grandchildren, Chad M. Smith, Amanda Meyers, Lauren Smith and Ethan Smith; and his great grandchildren, Hunter Smith, Elisha Kendall and Micaiah Meyers.
