She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Unger and Roxie Bates Unger; her husband Russell Flatt; and her brothers, Larry and Bill Unger.

She is survived by: her daughter Claudia Varga (James) of Indianapolis; her grandchildren, Anna Varga-Peoni (Nicholas) and Sam Varga; her great grandchildren, Lucy and Nicholas Peoni; and her sisters, Betty Skinner (Dean) of Bardstown, Dorothy Unger of Sullivan and Nancy Goodman of Sullivan, Indiana..
