He was predeceased by: his wife Ruth Hazel Phillips; his daughter Jean Thompson; his parents, Leo Phillips and Helen Phillips; his sister Charlotte Politano; and his brother-in-law Denny Politano.
He is survived by: his children, Linda Thompson (Todd) of St Louis, MO, Robert S. Phillips (Terri) of Graysville, IN and Shirley Marshall (Jim) of Oblong, IL; his son-in-law Dwight Thompson of Nashville, IN; his niece Janine Stier (Paul) of Fredericksburg, VA; and his grandchildren, Justin Thompson (KiKi), Molly Heininger (Nate), Mitchell Thompson (Sarah), Russ Thompson, Max Phillips (Dana), Amanda Shelton (Jared), Ross Marshall (Shelby) and Austin Marshall (Rachel). He is also survived by 16 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his name to : The Greater Indiana Chapter of Alzheimer's Association, or The Sullivan County Humane Society.
