He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Hoggatt and Mary Hoggatt (Lowe); his siblings, Rosemay Royer and Ruthanne Presnell; and his son Benny Joe Hoggatt.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Hoggatt; his children, Veronica Hall (John) of Marshall, Tony Hoggatt of Staunton and Dee Smith of Staunton; his grandchildren, Tia Price (Mike), Michael Hall (Emilee), J. D. Hall (Sheila), Tiffany Felchlia (Byron) and Rick Smith (Shawna); his great grandchildren, Cullen, Aya, Noah, Mitt, Karlie, Kaylie, Lauren, Macie, Rikki and River; and his brother Gerald Hoggatt. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.
