He was predeceased by: his parents, H. Philip Moon and Della Moon (Wood); his siblings, Teresa Shaver and Marshall Moon; his siblings-in-law, Brad Glasson and Sharon Moon; and his father-in-law Gerald Reinholt.

He is survived by: his wife Debra S. Moon of Star City; his children, Kyle Moon (Debbi) of Culver, Stefanie Hillis (Drew) of Kempton and Megan Perkins (Don) of Winamac; his siblings, Aaron Moon of Star City, Carl Moon (Vonda) of Pennsylvania and Sharon Glasson of Logansport; his mother-in-law Barbara Reinholt; his grandchildren, Ashley Ellis, Connor Moon, Madison Moon, Paxton Moon, Lincoln Hillis, Ava Perkins, Paisley Hillis and Theodore Perkins; and his great grandchild Ellis Hobert.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Star City Volunteer Fire Department and/or Indiana Bass Federation Youth Association.
