He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Brinson and Betty I. Brinson (Jackson); and his nephews, Doug and Jamey Christenberry. He is survived by: his wife Laura Brinson (Dorris); his son Dustin Brinson; his stepchildren, Andrea Miller, Jennifer Schnurpel and Gary Lawson; his grandchildren, Lina, Natalie Fleehearty, Madelynn, Kennedy, Chloe, Ryann, Parker, Abigail, Layla, Dillon, Katy, Laila and Madeline; and his siblings, Connie Roberts (Dave), Dan Brinson (Carolyn), Gail Brinson (Laurel) and Joseph Brinson. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
