He was predeceased by: his parents, Mervin Smith and Goldie Smith (Shelburn); his granddaughter Angela Dawn Smith; and his siblings, Dwain Smith and Virginia Franklin.
He is survived by: his wife Freida Smith; his son Jerry Smith (Mary Ann); his grandson James Smith (Rhonda); and his great grandchildren, Michael Jacobson and Mathew Smith.
