He was predeceased by: his father Harold. He is survived by: his wife Kristin S. (Neaman); his sons, Grant Shorter (Susan) of Spencer and Scott Lawalin (Tanya) of Indianapolis; and his granddaughters, Christi Thompson (Adam) and Lydia Barriger (Jordan).
