He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Andrew and Mary Agnes Porten; his former wife Joan Meyer Porten; his son Mark Porten; and his siblings, Delores Boston, Joe, Ed and Nick Porten.
He is survived by: his children, Beth Porten Hines (Michael) and David J. Porten (Michelle); his sisters, Mary Powers, Rosie Griffin and Jeanne Jett; and his grandchildren, Maria Hines and Sean Porten. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Christopher Catholic Church or the Slovenian National Home of Indianapolis.
